What can cause my Peterbilt semi truck to shake/vibrate?

  • Although there is an endless list of symptoms that can cause vibrating or shaking:

    If your Peterbilt semi-truck shakes or vibrates during engine brake application, engine load, or acceleration, it could be due to worn-out engine mount bushings/cushions. These mount bushings/cushions act as a buffer between the engine and the frame of the truck, but when they wear out, the internal mounting bracket of the mount, which is stressed the most because of the weight of the engine/transmission, it creates freeplay and wobbles inside the housing, causing the rubber insulator to rip and ruining the cushion.
