How do you adjust the hood on a Volvo VNL?

Depending if you're adjusting how the hood sits aligned to the bumper / cab or if you're adjusting the hood latching so the hood can lock evenly and stay locked, those are 2 different procedures.

To adjust the hood latches on a 1997-2018 Volvo VNL:

    1. Loosen the lock nuts that mount / adjust the latch vertically and horizontally

    2. Close gently but don’t latch the hood, line up the latch you are adjusting with the hood pin, you can use a paint marker to make marks where it should sit

    3. Open the hood and tighten the latch in the position you set

    4. Try shutting the hood and check to see if both sides latch evenly or if one side does not latch, repeat as necessary to adjust the LH and RH hood latches
